capturing the extraordinary in the ordinary

there are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer.

There are product details on the CONTACT ME page (seems like the best place for FAQ and answers).

I like to look at things through the lens of a camera. Some of my favorites are flowers and ordinary things that become extraordinary from a certain perspective.

I have always approached my photography casually. When I have my camera with me I do my best to capture what I see, just as it is. I don’t use a bag of tricks or special equipment. I don’t wait for the perfect light or watch for hours until the setting is ideal. I just click the shutter release once or twice to make a photo as I see the subject while traveling on the road of life.

My current equipment is often my iPhone 13 Pro but may also include an Olympus E-M1 (with a 28-300 Tamron lens or a Canon G15 (although not the latest version, it is a handy little point and shoot).

Back in 1974 my father gave me my first camera and I still have it. It was a Revere 3M Automatic 1064 with a Rokkor lens. It recorded on 35mm film … high tech in its day, because at 4.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 it wasn’t much bigger than the film case stretched across the lens box. Plus, I could add a 4-sided flash bulb for indoor or low light situations! Yet, nothing in my wildest dreams would have convinced me that I would eventually create images using a phone!

I have also approached this website casually. Maybe a bit too casually some may think, but the photography and related crafts are a hobby not a job. You may know an image of mine that you cannot find on this website. So, if you want a specific image or just want to see all the images I offer, please complete the contact form so I can make an appointment with you in the metro area of Minneapolis-Saint Paul. There are other options if you don’t live close by. Thanks for your interest!

I’m not a botany expert so if you see something is misidentified, please let me know. If something other than flowers & plants seems amiss, I’d like to know that, too.

Friendship is not a reward for our discrimination and
good taste in finding one another.
It is the instrument by which
God reveals to each of us the beauty of all the others.

The kindness of friends encourages me to look for similar qualities in others I meet (and it will help keep this site accurate too)!

Thank you very much!
Tak skal du have! Tack så mycket!
